Background and Partner Organisation

The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a program for the prevention of violence and the promotion of peace in crisis and conflict regions. As a seconded professional in the CPS, you will be committed to partner organisations that are advocating for social justice, peace and the protection of human rights on the ground. The organisations are part of a national network of peace organisations and unite their efforts for sustainable and impactful social transformation.

The partner organisation Freedom Restoration Program (FRP) works in the Thailand-Myanmar border region with women and men in migrant communities to reduce gender-based violence. This particularly affects women without access to state protection. The organisation initially started small, but is currently growing. The secondment of a professional is intended to support local leadership at a strategic and organisational level. 

You are located in Mae Sot, Thailand. 

Your Responsibilities

In particular, you are responsible for the following:

  • You will provide a focused organisational assessment to identify priorities for growth, resilience, and sustainability.
  • You will support the development and coordination of finance systems, grant management, and fundraising strategies.
  • You will contribute to long‑term organisational and strategic planning to prepare FRP for programme expansion and funding fluctuations.
  • You will support the design and implementation of a social enterprise and sustainable income strategy that strengthens the organisation's resilience while creating secure, income-generating opportunities for participating women.
  • You will build staff capacity through hands‑on mentoring and coaching in organisational management, project coordination, financial oversight, and sustainability planning.
  • You will document systems, strategies, and tools to ensure continuity and sustainability beyond the secondment.

Your Profile

What you bring to the table:

  • You have an university degree in a relevant field.
  • You have relevant professional experience in project management and organisational development. 
  • You have 3–5 years of professional experience working on issues related to gender-based violence
  • You have strong cultural awareness and gender sensitivity, with a deep understanding of intersectional and overlapping forms of marginalisation and discrimination.
  • You have experience working in either Southeast Asia or in displaced, migrant or other marginalized communities.
  • You have good communication skills and are willing to perform the majority of your work tasks online.
  • Your very good English skills enable you to communicate with partners; you are open to learning the Burmese language intensively.  
  • We are looking for internationally experienced candidates. For this position, a minimum of 5 years proven working/ living experience outside of Myanmar is required.
